SYNOPSIS:
KEN YAGUCHI is an ambitious Japanese toy salesman. One day, he decides
to leave his wife and son in Japan to pursue his dreams of riches
and fame in Los Angeles. For weeks he tries to sell his traditional
Japanese toys door to door. He is not successful. Finally the continuous
harsh rejection becomes overwhelming and he finds himself alone
on the beach, lost in despair. As he looks over the Pacific Ocean,
he longs for his family and mourns his dreams which seem destined
to never come true.
Soon a beautiful American woman, named JODY appears on the scene
and offers him a ride in her red sports car. She invites him to
her house, where she eventually proposes to him. Although everything
seems to be happening too quickly, he sees a chance finally realize
his dreams and to take a chance. In preparation for the wedding,
she leaves the house to run errands. She tells him not open a
special cabinet until she returns. He waits, and waits and waits,
but she never comes back. Finally he can't take it anymore and
approaches the forbidden cabinet. What he finds is not just shocking,
but surreal.
